Their automated systems are among the best in the international market in terms of performance, user-friendliness, and ease of use. Hamilton Storage wanted to expand its product range with an extremely compact product that would fit in any laboratory yet offer the full performance of an automated sample storage system. ThermodynamX was responsible for the cooling from the outset.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<!--  .col-6@md -->\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-6@md\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>The challenge<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\">For the successful implementation of the new plant, we had to consider, among other things, the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Use of exclusively natural refrigerants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Base-based design (high serviceability)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">A cooling unit filled with refrigerant must be able to be shipped by air freight.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Wide range of applications: Storage temperature from -20 \u00b0C to +20 \u00b0C<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Multi-voltage: 110 V \/ 60 Hz to 230 V \/ 50 Hz connection<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">Technical and regulatory guidelines, coupled with high customer demands, often result in very demanding requirements. Thanks to a methodical approach and close collaboration with our customer, we implemented these requirements step by step and verified them with measurements.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<!--  .col-6@md -->\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>The result<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\">The cooling unit for the Verso Q20 product was developed. As requested, the cooling unit is located in the base and docked to the chamber from below. A major advantage for servicing: In case of a defect, the entire cooling unit can be replaced in under 15 minutes. Furthermore, the base design allowed for a hermetically sealed refrigeration circuit. This enables the cooling unit to be installed in the field without a refrigeration technician \u2013 essentially plug and play. And: Unlike other units, air freight is permitted because the refrigerant charge in the circuit is less than 100 g \u2013 made possible by a compact design and optimized components. Thanks to the variable-speed control of the compressor and fan, the cooling unit operates efficiently and very quietly.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<!--  .col-12 -->\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Verso Q20 proves itself on the market<\/h4>\n<p>Hamilton Storage is adding the Verso Q20 product to its range of storage platforms. It was first presented at SLAS in San Diego at the end of January 2020.
