-43°C…+70°C
Our climate chamber is a demonstrator for cold room air conditioning using natural refrigerants in an auto-cascade system.
Simulate arctic operating temperatures
or scorching hot transport conditions?
The ThermodynamX climate chamber can be customized for
testing specimens or used in the context of device development.
- Room volume 2.8m x 2.8m x 2.8m
- Barrier-free entrance 88 cm x 205 cm
- Temperatures ranging from -43°C to 70°C
- Live monitoring and logging of temperatures
- 100% natural refrigerant
- Changing transport conditions can be simulated
- Device testing under extreme conditions
- (3 phases up to 16A in chamber,3L+N+PE)
Situation
Testing and verifying requirements is essential in device development. Here are a few examples:
A device must function properly and deliver specified performance at both -30°C and 30°C.
A product is manufactured overseas and must be shipped to its destination by sea. This means that the product is exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations in the container. The various assemblies and individual parts are theoretically designed for these temperatures, but can they withstand these conditions when assembled?
The safety standard specifies a transport temperature of 70°C for natural refrigerants – how does the device behave at this temperature?
Challenge
The chamber that was to be installed in Grabs was previously equipped with an old refrigeration unit.
This did not contain any natural refrigerant, had to be switched on and off for regulation, and only had
a limited operating range of 0–40°C. This was no longer sufficient for the new location.
Operating range -43°C to +70°C
100% natural refrigerants
Compact & hermetically sealed
Auto-cascade systems
Solution
The newly developed two cooling units with:
– two evaporator packages each
– speed-controlled compressor
enable a range of applications from -43°C to 70°C and allow the correct speed to be selected for different outputs and temperatures.
In addition, the redundancy of the cooling systems makes it possible to maintain the temperature with one unit while the other cooling system is in the defrost cycle.
With the ThermodynamX climate chamber located in Grabs, temperatures from -43°C to 70°C can be simulated and recorded over a longer period of time. The chamber is equipped with two cooling units and offers 2.8m x 2.8m of space. The control system allows devices to be tested in different states or to be started only after the target temperature has been reached.
